Vacancy - 3D Technical Designer
Do you want the opportunity to work with a world-renowned brand in a position where you will be professionally challenged? Hampton Conservatories is an industry leading manufacturer of bespoke Conservatories and Orangeries and we are searching for an individual with a strong technical background, interested in employing their 3D design skills to contribute to our current highly experienced design team.
This key role involves using Solidworks 3D design software to create detailed models of projects, initially for use by sales consultants presenting to Clients and then to adapt these designs to produce a comprehensive manufacturing package including drawings, files for CAM software, bills of materials, etc. The use of design automation software to reduce initial lead times is planned and you would be heavily involved in the delivery of this project which will take us to the next level.
Whilst the core of this role is design you will also have the opportunity to learn, develop and utilise other skills.
This is a broad role requiring more than just CAD capability and will suit an individual looking to develop a career in a forward-thinking business which has embraced lean manufacturing values.
The successful candidate must have:
- Training or experience in technical design using 3D design software
- Experience of working with Solidworks
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Ability to understand/interpret technical drawings
- Ability to produce clear drawings for use in a manufacturing environment
Desirable criteria includes:
- Experience in design automation
- Experience in CNC programming
- Knowledge of construction or joinery
