What do I need to take part in Virtual Classroom Training?

You will need to install SOLIDWORKS on your computer and have access to an internet connection. You will also need any necessary add-ins or partner products installed that are applicable to the course you are taking. For more information view our guide on how to access SOLIDWORKS from home.

For an optimal training experience, we suggest you use two monitors and have access to a microphone so that you can speak directly to the instructor. Text based chat is also available.

To attend the training each day you will be sent an invite code before 9:00am that will allow you to join the virtual classroom.

How do I sign up to a Virtual Classroom Training session?

View our training schedule and sign up for a training course at a time that is convenient for you.

Will I get a training manual for the course?

A 60-day temporary eBook will be provided to you and once we are able to access our offices again, we will provide a physical manual to you. You will receive a separate email with instructions of how to access the eBook. Please ensure you access the eBook before the morning of the start of the course.

Tip – The eBook is browser based so you can easily read it on a tablet or phone if needed.

Do I need to have SOLIDWORKS installed?

Yes, to get the most out of the course you’ll need SOLIDWORKS installed so that you can follow along with the instructor and complete practice exercises. You will also need any necessary add-ins or partner products installed that are applicable to the course you are taking.

What courses are available for Virtual Classroom Training?

What time of day is the Virtual Classroom Training?

Our Virtual Classroom Training follows the same structure as our regular courses, commencing at 09:30 and finishing by 16:30. Throughout each day there will be several opportunities for breaks including an hour’s break for lunch.

How can I ask questions during Virtual Classroom Training?

Our Virtual Classroom Training is a hands-on, live, interactive group training session from a professional, qualified instructor.

You will have the opportunity to discuss the course’s content and ask any questions directly to your instructor via messenger chat or by using a microphone.

How do I register for Virtual Classroom Training?

You can register online by visiting our course schedule page. To attend a course you will need to have sufficient training credits or be on the training passport scheme. If you need to purchase additional training credits or a training passport please get in touch with your account manager, alternatively call us on 01926 333777 or contact training@solidsolutions.co.uk

Do I get proper qualifications and certificates?

Yes, our Virtual Classroom Training gives you exactly the same qualifications and certificates as the on-site training.

When will physical and on-site training sessions return?

We are following government’s advice and reviewing the situation on a daily basis. We will keep you informed via this page and via email and phone call before confirming any physical training sessions, you have registered to. Until further notice all our training will be via Virtual Classroom sessions.

  • You will practise your skills on your desktop just as if you were in a physical training session
  • Our instructor can swap to your screen and help you in real-time with any issues
  • We will send you a eBook and all the details on how and when to log into the class and we’re always here to answer your questions before, during and after your class

Update on classroom or customer on-site training

All courses until the end of July will be delivered via our Virtual Classroom Training, as per above. This is not a firm end date and we will review the situation closer to the time before confirming we can offer physical training sessions.

We're confident that we can deliver great training online to anyone, you won't even need SOLIDWORKS, just a reliable internet connection. If you're still unsure whether the experience of a virtual classroom course will compare to a traditional course, then we encourage you to sign up to this half day event and try out the training for yourself.

Throughout the short course, you will experience how you can interact with the instructor, work through modelling a simple design and experience the setup required to complete a virtual, instructor led course.
